Gurgaon News: Tribute to Rafi by GCF.

Gurgaon News: Since last five years, Global Cultural foundation, Gurgaon ,a “not-for-profit organization” has been has been relentlessly striving for the upkeep of art, music and dance forms of India , and entertaining Music Lovers of Gurgaon and Delhi , wholeheartedly with melodious vintage songs and music of legends, both from the past and present.
Continuing with this tradition, the GCF group led by Col R C Chadha, in collaboration with Epicenter, presented “Wo Jab Yaadaaye“ a tribute to the maestro – Mohd. Rafi, whose simple soulful songs, Stirred many a million souls !
On 25th July 2012, at 7.30 PM, at Epicenter, Apparel house Gurgaon, five days before Rafis death Anniversary on 31stjuly.
The show began with a bhajan“ Mantadpatharidharshankoaaj ” sung by Rafi in BaijuBawra.
This was followed by a warm welcome of the Sponsorsby by president GCF ,Col R C Chadha.
ShriSomeshChowdhary of Global Fragrances pvt ltd, and ShriHimanshuMaheswari of “ Bajaj Capital “ and Lily Singh were honored and felicitated on stage.

What unfolded then, was an extravaganza of live singing performances, by a highly talented group ofsingers ,; Atul Bacheti, Deepak , Col ChadhaSimrat and kanika,. thereby transporting listeners back to a mesmerizing golden era of the music world .
The show was anchored by ShriSatpal Narang of FM fame, who brought to life the memories of Rafi Saab ,
As he narrated stories of Rafi ji , especially those that were associated with songs that were performed on stage.
Deepak, a singer from Bombay and Atul Bacheti from Delhi , cast their spell upon the audiences with Songs like “Chahunga main tujhe sham savere..” , “Subhaanalhah..haseinchehra “
A variety of Duets were performed , ranging from “ Hum dum mere maanbhijao …” to “ Aawaazdekarhumein tum bulao” sung by Atul and Simrat.
Kanika Banerjee made a special appearance in “Maang ke saathTumhara…” in her lively melodious voice, in a duet performance with Col Chadha.
Col Chadha was at his patriotic best, with a special performance very close to his heart “Watan ki raah par..” The audiences could sense the emotions, as Satpal Narang explained the reasons why the song was so dear to Col Sahab, who took part in 1971 war as front line soldier and saw the bloodshed of war.
This was contrasted with a lively number “ Deewanehaindeewanokonagharchaiye…” from film Zanzeer which reminded the audiences of the angry young man – Amitabh bacchan and how Rafi ji, though his voice in the sung expressed romantic emotions for Jaya in th movie.
Video and Audio clipping of Rafi singing were interspersed with the live song performances. The anchor, MrNarang elaborated on Rafi singing for Kishore kumar, his Yodling, and his most famous number “ o duniyakerakhwaale” which is considered the epitome of perfection in singing.
The event was attended by Sh HP Yadav( industrialist ), Col Pratap of Col Academi, MrAmarjeet Singh Kohli of Sakha.
The special evening of tributes ended with an equally special song collectively sung by all artists
“Wo jab yaadaaye…bahutyaadaaye “
